However, they are undergoing a global decline in terms of area and quality. The village of Tanjung Sungkai in Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan, has significant seagrass potential and is included in the indicative location of the KSNT Blue Carbon Reserve. However, scientific information regarding the total carbon storage and economic value of carbon in this area is limited. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the condition of the seagrass ecosystem based on seagrass cover percentage, estimate carbon stock potential and assess the economic value of carbon to support sustainable coastal management. The results showed that the average seagrass cover was 33.05 ± 20.36% (moderate category), with four types of seagrass identified: Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Syringodium isoetifolium and Halophila ovalis. The community structure was dominated by H. ovalis (59%), followed by S. isoetifolium (36%). The total carbon stock reached 2,951.278 tons and the economic value of seagrass carbon was estimated at IDR 17.82 billion, while ecosystem degradation per hectare had the potential to cause losses of up to IDR 660 million. The Adaptive Management approach is considered relevant to support sustainable seagrass ecosystem management.
Aprizal Junaidi, Gatot Yulianto, Niken Tunjung Murti Pratiwi, Novi Susetyo Adi ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/1324 Sat, 29 Aug 2026 21:01:58 +0700 Analisis kualitas perairan Sungai Kampili, Kabupaten Gowa, Sulawesi Selatan menggunakan metode biotilik https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/1079
River ecosystem quality can be assessed through macroinvertebrate communities, as different taxa have different levels of sensitivity to pollution. The Kampili River in Gowa Regency is under anthropogenic pressure from surrounding domestic and agricultural activities. This study aimed to evaluate the water quality of the Kampili River based on macroinvertebrate composition and abundance using the Biotilik Index. The study was conducted in February 2024, with macroinvertebrate samples collected along the river. The organisms were identified to the family level and analyzed based on abundance percentages and the Biotilik Index (X/N). Hydropsychidae was the most abundant family, followed by Mesovellidae and Ephemerellidae. Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, and Trichoptera (EPT) accounted for 53.19% of the total abundance, indicating relatively good ecological conditions. The Biotilik Index value of 3.11 indicated light pollution, with 47 individuals recorded. These results suggest early changes in ecological conditions associated with anthropogenic pressure. Regular water quality monitoring, waste management, environmentally friendly agricultural practices, and riparian vegetation protection are needed to maintain the condition of the Kampili River ecosystem.
Wafiq Azizah, Devi Armita, Andi Hernawati ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/1079 Sat, 29 Aug 2026 21:27:23 +0700 Estimasi emisi gas rumah kaca dari pembakaran sampah komunal skala desa di Kecamatan Dukun, Kabupaten Gresik https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/818
Waste incineration has become a significant source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and has increased substantially in recent years. Communal waste incineration is commonly found in the Duku District, Gresik Regency due to inaccessibility of waste transport to Ngipik Landfill. This study aims to estimate the generation and composition of waste burned, the intensity of burning, and GHG emissions from communal waste burning in Dukun District. Sampling of generation and composition was carried out using load-count analysis, data on burning intensity was obtained through interviews with village officials, and GHG emission estimates were calculated using the IPCC 2006 tier2.a and 95% confidence interval. The amount of communally burned waste is estimated to reach 1,700.24 (95% CI: 1,514.66-1,885.82) tons per year from 22 communal burning sites with a burning frequency of twice a week. The composition of the burned waste was dominated by food waste, garden waste, and plastics. Total emissions from communal burning in the Dukun District are estimated to reach 778.69 (95% CI: 666.17-891.21) tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
Faiq Abdillah, Abdur Rohman, Cantika Almas Fildzah ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/818 Sun, 30 Aug 2026 16:18:08 +0700 Pengembangan kerangka konseptual untuk transisi energi berkelanjutan: pendekatan bibliometrik https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/601
This research aims to develop a conceptual framework for sustainable energy transition as an initial research in measuring and mapping sustainable energy transition in Indonesia. A bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review were conducted to identify the components and indicators of a sustainable energy transition based on sustainability dimensions. Bibliographic analysis shows that publications related to the sustainable energy transition were dominantly published in the period 2019-2023, while citations on this topic increased in 2017. The keywords that emerged most often in the study were conservation of natural resources, environment, humans, and animals. In terms of the period, the keywords with the highest use until 2023 are conservation of energy resources, environment and humans with trend topics on the themes of energy, transition and sustainability. There are four clusters of VosViewer output, namely focusing on environmental impact, natural resources, energy intensity and environmental economy. The thematic map output produces clusters that focus on economic development, conservation of natural resources and animals. The findings provide an initial conceptual framework that can explain the scope of the sustainable energy transition.
Muhamad Ferdy Firmansyah, Yudha Hadian Nur, Muhamad Andri Arif Pramanda ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/601 Sun, 30 Aug 2026 17:59:39 +0700 Profil pencemaran air tanah sekitar tempat pemrosesan akhir sampah di Kabupaten Bekasi https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/677
Groundwater pollution that occurs around waste landfill activities is the impact of the operation of a waste landfill, especially if the open dumping method is still used, there is potential for leachate infiltration to enter the soil and pollute groundwater. Apart from being high in organic pollutants, leachate also contains heavy metals. This can happen because there are various kinds of waste that are piled up. The aim of this research is to review the groundwater pollution profile based on heavy metal pollution parameters at 8 sampling points in the Burangkeng Village area. The heavy metals analyzed were Iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), Chromium (Cr), and Cadmium (Cd). The heavy metals Fe, Mn, and Cr were found at all locations, but the results also showed that the heavy metals Fe and Cr were not detected, and all locations showed that Cd metal was below the detection limit. The analysis results at several locations were also found to exceed the applicable quality standards, namely Minister of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. Therefore, strategies to mitigate these impacts on groundwater are necessary, including household-scale water treatment and the utilization of communal clean water supplies.
Harry Alfiansyah, Rachmadhi Purwana, Haruki Agustina ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/677 Mon, 31 Aug 2026 23:57:31 +0700 Analisis pengaruh penerapan Peraturan Presiden nomor 15 tahun 2018 terhadap kinerja kualitas air Sungai Citarum https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/971
The Citarum River supports key sectors such as agriculture, energy, and raw water supply. However, pollution poses significant threats to public health and the regional economy. In response, the Government of Indonesia issued Presidential Regulation No. 15 of 2018 to accelerate the control of pollution and degradation in the Citarum watershed. The “Citarum Harum” program, launched as part of this regulation, aims to improve river water quality through more coordinated and synergistic pollution control efforts. This study aims to determine the water quality status and pollution levels of the river using the Pollution Index (PI) method following the enactment of Presidential Regulation No. 15 of 2018. Water quality data were collected at three monitoring points along the Cibeureum Hilir, Cisangkan Hilir, and Cimahi Leuwigajah segments. The parameters analyzed included physical (TSS) and chemical (DO, BOD, COD,, total phosphate) indicators, which exceeded water quality standards at all three locations. The PI values indicated slightly to moderately polluted water conditions during the implementation of the Citarum Harum program. This condition is attributed to the strict supervision by military authorities over industrial and domestic waste disposal activities during the implementation of Citarum Harum program.
Een Irawan Putra, Soeryo Adiwibowo, Hefni Effendi ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/971 Mon, 31 Aug 2026 23:58:29 +0700 Peningkatan kualitas RTH taman perumahan Puri Way Halim berbasis indeks hijau biru Indonesia https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/1138
The paradigm of Green Open Space (GOS) has evolved to integrate green, non-green, and blue spaces. However, residential areas in Bandar Lampung City, which possess the largest GOS portion, face low quality and are flood vulnerable. This study aims to provide design recommendations for GOS development in the Way Halim Permai Residential Field based on the Indonesian Green-Blue Index (IHBI) to improve environmental quality and flood mitigation, as well as to determine the design elements necessary to achieve a high IHBI score. The research method employed an IHBI calculation simulation referring to the Minister of ATR/BPN Regulation No. 14 of 2022, comparing the existing conditions with an integrated proposed design. The results show that applying the IHBI as a design framework is highly effective. The effective GOS area increased 4.19-fold, from 2,468.89 m² (equivalent to IHBI 1) to 10,364.64 m² (equivalent to IHBI 4.19). The main design elements required are: (1) superior large-tree vegetation; (2) blue infrastructure (bioswales, rain gardens, and retention ponds); and (3) porous materials (porous paving and grass blocks). Public GOS design in flood-prone residential areas must integrate these three elements, as they contribute most to the IHBI score while supporting green and blue ecological functions.
Muhammad Saddam Ali, Ina Winiastuti Hutriani, Zulvita Amanda, Annisa Tri Andina, Bagas Arianto, Cindy Romauly Elysabeth Manurung, Muhammad Arya Wibowo ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal.bkpsl.org/index.php/jplb/article/view/1138 Fri, 04 Sep 2026 23:16:44 +0700
